Preheat waffle iron.
If you are making a batch of 6 or more, one at a time:
I recommend you preheat the oven to about 125-150 degrees celsius (250-300 degrees fahrenheit) to keep the french toast crisp and warm while you are making the rest.
Blend together eggs, milk, and spices in a medium bowl.
When the iron is sufficiently heated, spray the waffle iron with anti-stick spray. Close to disperse the spray, and open a second later.
Dip bread into the mixture, submerging or flipping it. Do not soak it by letting it sit for an extended period of time unless the bread is naturally very dense.
Place the bread in the waffle iron and close. Follow the waffle iron instructions for cooking.
Repeat. If using the oven keep-warm method, place them in the oven, one at a time, until the last piece is ready to serve.
Serve with your preferred toppings.
